HEARTS offers classes, competitive sports, yearbook, graduation, and social events for 7th through 12th grade. Jr. High is 7th and 8th grade and Sr. High is 9th through 12th grade. It is up to the parents to decide when their students are ready for a certain grade level. One of the best things about homeschooling is the flexibility it provides us parents to teach our kids at THEIR level. Our policies regarding age and grade level for HEARTS classes and activities are listed below.

Classes - We strongly encourage parents of students that are placed in a grade higher or lower than their age would indicate to speak with their individual teachers to make sure they are ready to handle the coursework. It is not the responsibility of the teacher to modify their class to fit the needs of a student that is younger or older than the course recommends, it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that each student is prepared and committed to completing the coursework assigned by their teachers.

Activities - Parents should consider the social readiness of their younger students with regard to HEARTS social activities and sports. Some of our activities are designed for siblings and and families as well, others are not. Our program coordinators can help you decide whether or not your student is ready to participate.
